February demo program “Photographing Your Paintings”

The February CAL demonstration program will be presented by Ken Ronney, president of the California Art League.  He will present a workshop/demonstration on “Photographing your paintings”.

Techniques of setup, lighting, camera settings and cropping will be explained.  Bring your digital camera and tripod (if you have one) and, a painting or two that you want to photograph.  Following the lecture/slideshow portion, we will spend as much time as needed to photograph member’s paintings with member’s cameras.  Ken will bring several tripods.  Several easels are available at the Center.

Since all CAL exhibits, and many, many others require entry by digital photos, this is a very timely subject.

Ken has been developing fool-proof techniques for photographing paintings for the last 5 years, taking many photos of a very prolific painter’s work, a fellow CAL member.

CAL members and guests are invited.

The meeting is at the SFV Arts & Cultural Center, 18312 Oxnard St., Tarzana.  The meeting starts at 7:00.  Light refreshments will be served.  CAL members, guests and visitors are welcome.  Suggested donation for members is $5.00.  Non-members $8.00.

Parking is available in the fenced lot behind the center, just across the alley.  DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF ANY OF THE ROLL UP DOORS IN FRONT OF BUSINESSES BEHIND THE ART GALLERY.

While you are at the demonstration, take time to enjoy the current exhibit on display, “Absolute Abstracts”.  There are 108 pieces of art from about 35 artists.  It is an excellent exhibit.
