The January CAL demonstration program on Tuesday, January 17 will feature Anna T. Kelly, a highly accomplished painter and winner of “Best of Show” in our current “RED” exhibit at the Blinn House in Pasadena.
Anna’s topic will be “Enjoy life, keep painting”, and she will emphasize the joy she experiences while painting and describe her thought process while painting.
She will discuss drawing and sketching, which help define elements such as relative size and color changes in different environments, and finish the process by drawing and keep notes on what she has seen.
She will continue with watercolor composition, design, values, line, shape, and edge.
Her demonstration piece will be an oil painting which will demonstrate painting techniques, stressing color, texture and brush stroke, create rhythm, mood, action and feeling. Her original oil painting will be raffled off at the end of the demonstration.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 at the SFV Arts and Cultural Center, 18312 Oxnard St, Tarzana. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome. Suggested donation is $5 for CAL members, $8 for guests and visitors.
