October general Membership / Demonstration Meeting

The regularly scheduled CAL general membership/demonstration meeting will be this coming Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 7:00, at the SFV Arts & Cultural Center, 18312 Oxnard Street, Tarzana.  Members and guests are welcome.  Light refreshments will be served.  (Keep the third Tuesday of each month, except December, July and August open on your calendar as our regular meeting date.) 

 Our October demonstrator will be Mike Hernandez.  He will be demonstrating the technique of preparing a6x9 gouache on watercolor block.

 Mike is a production designer/art director/concept artist at Dreamworks Animation, and an avid plein air painter who, on his lunch hour, goes outside to paint whatever he can find, and in downtown Los Angeles, this can mean a park, an industrial scene, or the Los Angeles River. Mike attended and then taught at the Art Center College Of Design in Pasadena. He has taught several painting classes and workshops, focusing on the important fundamentals of composition, color relationship, lighting, atmospheric perspective and shape design.
