Mountains and Landscape Painting with Sharon Weaver

Sharon Weaver grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania where the winters were cold and monotone. The use of bold colors in her art is a direct rebellion against that drab landscape.

After finishing a Fashion Design degree at Parsons School of Design, Sharon worked in the garment industry as a designer and merchandiser.

Moving to California was a turning point for Sharon. Seeing for herself the country that inspired the California Impressionists opened her eyes to the beauty of the landscape. After studying with Karl Dempwolf, Sharon dedicated all her time to plein air painting. It paid off when she was juried into the prestigious Carmel Art Festival.

For the next four years Sharon honed her skills by participating in many more plein air events. Today, Sharon’s art combines her understanding of nature with her exceptional talent for drawing to create unforgettable images. The bold and unique colors in her work, much like the California Impressionists who first inspired her, are a feast fo the eyes and touch the soul. Using new techniques, working with other artists and teaching help Sharon continue to grow as an artist and push her limits.
